2014 GLK 250 BlueTec European Delivery
Just returned from Germany after purchasing my new 2014 GLK250 BlueTec and driving from Stuttgart, Germany north through Denmark, ferry to Norway, then to Sweden, back to Denmark and back to Germany. Turned in the GLK on Wednesday, 11 Sep 2013, to be shipped back to my dealer in Augusta, GA. It had five miles on it when I picked it up and my wife and I added another 2451 miles on it. It was an excellent vehicle for the German autobahn. When I picked it up I was told there were no limiting speed to drive during the first miles. On the autobahn without speed limits I stayed in the center lane most of the time between 80-95 MPH. My GPS recorded the entire trip and my max speed was 100 MPH during the 18 days we were there. We got several options on the GLK and I must say two of my favorites was the blind spot and the 360 degree camera. My wife loved the park assist. Diesel was very expensive all over Europe with us paying around $8.00 gal. everywhere except Norway where it was $10.00+. Our average MPG was 33.6 with the worst being 29.8 and best being 36.9 MPG. Everything there is metric but we converted to US gal. and miles.
