Best thing I have done
I just took my 2004 S430 with 112500 miles to my independent MB Shop and spent 2100 for which I had my transmission serviced with new oil and filter, my motor mounts replaced and an oil leak fixed (Oil sensor) with an oil change which was needed anyway because of the oil fix.
Well to make a long story short, it is like a transformed car, it is quiet, without vibration and no longer sounds like a diesel at start up, it before was like it was pre-igniting pinging. Anyway I have read on here that other owners have had similar issues and noises, well maybe the fluid filled motor mounts are shot.
I am a happy driver again albeit a few dollars lighter.
