Hi there!

My name is Lucas, 23 y.o. from The Netherlands. I drive (well, actually 'used to drive' - but I'll get to that later...) my 1986 W124 260E with 5spd. manual box.
It is executed in the lovely color .172 "Anthrazit Grau" and has been upgraded with the Sacco Bretter panels of the MOPF1 models by the previous owner.

I've always loved Merc's. I was nearly born in one. My dad had a couple of Benz's in the past. He started with a lovely w123 300TD, then a W202 220CDI Kombi (the wagon you 'Murricans never had), a W163 CDI and (current) a W164 CDI Sport.

I'm a kid from the 90's but grew up with 80's car posters above my bed. So 80's styling has always been my weak spot when it comes to cars.
So it wasn't that weird that I bought the best 80's car you could buy at the time: A W124 E-class.

In Holland we formally had a law that made <25 y.o. vehicles road-tax-free (Like mine). Except that, when Greece went bankrupt, our politicians thought it would be an excelent job to dump al our (billions of) savings into that financial black hole-country to "save" them...
Now our own country is in dept and cuts are made everywhere. So now every oldtimer has to pay road tax anyway: Diesel and LPG cars; a lot. Petrol; Not really that much.
Mine has a LPG system which now has to be removed because it will save me € 1700,- (Yes, that's in Euro's) a year, on road tax alone!

Then there is another thing: The damn engine gave up on me 4 months ago. This is because of the multiple LPG-backfires. Another thing is that the engine probably has put down a lot more Km's than the odometer tells...

I'm pretty 'done' with this engine as it loses too much compression in most of it's cylinders.
I'm planning on a m103 3.0-12v Turbo or a M104 3.0-24v engine/tranny/diff swap. I hope to find the right knowledge on this forum for that.
I already have another daily runner, so time isn't an issue. But money is. As always

-sprayed the brake calipers gold (that's 30 extra BHP yo!)

-Euro headlight wipers
-Remus muffler
-w124CE facelift insert for bootlid/trunk
-Muliple sets of wheels: 17" w201 Evolution, 15" 8-holes, 16" 8-holes, 16" BBS Brabus Monoblock 1's, 15" Elegance 10-holes, 17" w220 wheels, 17x7.5+17x9.5 RW Rafala mesh wheels (WHEELWHORE ALERT)
