Returning to the Family

New member here, returning to the Mercedes-Benz family after a seven-year hiatus. Our last M-B was a 1990 300D 2.5 Turbo (sold in 2007) and we are awaiting the arrival of a 2014 GLK250 BlueTEC, which should go into production in Germany in the next week or so.

The GLK will be the fourth M-B diesel we have owned; in addition to the W124 sedan, our previous cars have included a 1982 300SD and 1985 300TD. It will replace our VW Jetta SportWagen TDI and share the driveway with a BMW 335d. I guess you could say that we are very partial to German diesels.

Although we are a wee bit nervous about owning a modern, highly electronic M-B, our experience with VW and BMW clean diesel technology has us very excited about the new GLK BlueTEC. And it will be nice to be behind the wheel of the three-pointed star again.

Cheers,
Jay
