big iron

Hello New to this forum and hoping for advise.I have a 2005 cl55 amg and when the hood is closed the drivers side has about a 1/4 inch of up and down play.I noticed on that side there is a hood stop with a rubber drommit it stops on.but on the passenger side the rubber is gone,so it would seem the play in the hood should be on side the rubber is missing.purchased the car new.and has never been wrecked.Any advise would surely help thx
