This is my first Mercedes and I'm loving it! I am formally a Cadi man. I think I've been transformed. I will add a picture later.

if you live in harsh weather or areas where salt is used on the roads, fix rust early on and get it undercoated, these models (96 and newer) rust fairly easily much as an american car would like ford or chevy....

and in other words, the mercedes is far better, ive watched my brother go threw 2 motors in his 06 CTS both round 60k, ive seen 100's if not 1000's of newer Cadi's at scrapyards with under 100k miles here in NY. Since you owned a cadi im sure your used to expensive maintenance, but if you keep the benz well maintained they will last, prevention is key dont wait for a failure

I agree that preventive maintenance is the best practice. I have practiced it with all my cars. I also own an 1986 Honda CRX SI with 244,000 original miles. I do all the maintenance and it runs like a sewing machine.
