w 124 sunroof wont go down

1991 e300 2.5 TD
Question w 124 sunroof wont go down
Hello all. I have a 1991 e300d 2.5TD 240k and a wonderful Mercedes to own. Problem, I raised the Sunroof and now it wont go down. I hit the button and nothing...

After I got home I tried the door key which will drop the sunroof and nothing. Got back in the car and pulled on the button and I can hear the motor when going up or down but the sunroof is not moving.

Is there a way to manually close it? or a way to identify the problem so I can try to make the repair myself?
