Old Car, Older new member!

Hello from an eternally wet Vancouver, BC!

As my 2-week holiday in Palm Desert came to a sudden, smoking stop on Day Three with my Acura TL's electrical fire (at 152K klicks - PARDON???), I spent the first week searching for replacement vehicles.

After scouring the 'Net for TLs, RLs, Lexii, et al., I decided to visit my old pal Tom Karbusicky's website at EuroMerc.com. I'd bought a 380 SEC from Tom some years ago, and the car was mint. Sitting there, on his site, calling my name, was this:

Absolutely unmarked '95 SL 320, 126K klicks, new tyres/brakes/2-yr bumper-to-bumper warranty, two owners from new. Last owner had it ten years without any problems whatsoever. He paid $43K, I paid a little over a quarter of that (in Canuckistani bucks!). The hardtop is also pristine and unmarked inside or out.

At 67, I may be a little past my mid-life crisis phase, but dang am I looking forward to this summer!

The car is unbelievably tight. No squeaks, creaks, rattles or rolls. The big tyres on the AMG wheels create a fair amount of bump-thump, but not one chirp of protest from the chassis.

I think I did OK - what say the experts?
