W203 Fuel pump issues
Hi
I have a 2001 C180 with M111 engine. This past weekend the car gave me hell on the open road. Fuel tank was full but car would suddenly stall. No acceleration but if I pumped on the accelerator it would surge and then do about 2km before switching off. Had to park onto the curb at about 60 degree angle because of traffic. Started the car after that and was able to drive home without any problem(about 80 km).I have read many posts about the fuel pump problems and this seems to be an ideal situation. What I need to know is whether the fuel level sensor is also faulty and how does one test if it is. Should I just replace the both(pump and level sensor). Opened and removed both this afternoon but could not see any visible damage/issues. I am in South Africa.
