The Mighty Benz
Every time I walk up to her and unlock the door to go for a drive and say The M....... It puts a smile on my face. I've owned many stock and custom VW's, the wife drives an early BMW 5 series and we make a living building custom BMW Motorcycles and sidecars. I guess I bleed German.
We just picked up our first Mercedes and are in love. This is the beginning of a new love affair. We are the 2nd owners of this 1974 240D.
So far she has had all fluids flushed and changed, transmission service with shift bushing and seal replaced, new windscreen, started on the detailing and getting the small stuff fixed and working. Lastly we took her family camping so we had to build a roof rack the day before we left.
Her she is:
The only upgrades will be a set of French headlights(coming from Germany), slightly lower stance and clean up the wheels.
