Hello All,
I'm George from Port Jefferson, NY. Just wondering if there are any local meetings for R129 Owners on Long Island. My car is triple black and has 20" chrome rims. I will post pics when I can. What I do notice is that when I go over 63-70 mph, the steering wheel shakes and just curious if anyone would know if that's a balance issue or an alignment issue. Thanks

It could be either one. It could also be uneven tire wear or the type of tire. My SL has a slight vibration at 75 and above. The alignment is OK and they've been speed balanced. The dealer told me to switch to Michelins.

@ghsu777...Could be a tire issue, wheel issue, steering stabilizer issue, ball joint, etc. If the tires are older check them for balance and being out-of-round...that's quick and cheap check. If the tires are good and a re-balance doesn't take the vibration out it might be time to have the front end looked at for alignment, tie rods, and ball joint wear.
