Thought I'd say a quick hello and urgently need some 7 G Tronic advise...
Spent all Summer looking for a good fully loaded SL63 after driving one in March '14..... Found an 08 beauty privately and took it to a MB Dealer to have a full health check done only to find a g Box fault coming up on the Star Diagnostic....!!!!....Bummer....!!! Seems the g box had a problem jammed in gear back in 2013 with the valve body either recoded or replaced...not sure exactly what was done yet...
Anyhow car showed a fault on the Star check and I really am wondering what to do......The work done back in July 2013 is still under MB 2 year warranty so they have to fix but I am wondering if I am buying a problem....? ..... Lots of horror stories re the & G Tronic box on various sites
and it sounds like quite a few people have had issues.....some of them repeat ones...Can anyhow tell me if the valve body has been replaced and correctly recoded with up to date softwear should I be worried....???
The car I test drove earlier in March was truly amazing and the paddle shift worked well so was really hoping to get into one of my own... Thanks in advance for any thoughts of the learned MB community.....
