E220 Estate 2009 and 270CLK 2003
New member needs advice

Hi
As a long term Mercedes lover I am currently running a 2003 270CLK (Her's) with 107,000 on the clock and averaging 48 mpg. Our other is a 2009 E220 Estate (His) with 53,000 miles but not nearly as economical.
I need some advice for both really. His refuses to raise the parcel shelf when you open the boot lid now. Her's has a really annoying noise that seems to come from the heater. It makes a noise like a cat screaming when you change direction and then when cruising, you hear a non-speed related clicking noise. I removed the blower fan above the passenger footwell, but this made no difference. I followed some other threads, but cannot work out the source of the noise. Can anybody help?
