Camshaft and bearings for 1981 240D
Hey MBWorld!
First off let me say, I'm an amateur. I came across my dream car this summer a 1981 Mercedes 240D! It has 300k on it, still in great condition, only problem... It wont turn over. I found a crack in the valve cover, welded it and it still wouldn't start. I took the cover back off and noticed the camshaft was not only snapped in half, but the bearings too. So now I'm on the hunting for a camshaft, I've found bearings
. Also, should I tear down the rest of the head and see if anymore damage has been done? Anything helps!
