2010 s class Timing Chain , 100k mile should I change it ?
Hi ,
I own a Mercedes S Class 2010 LWB 350 (CDI) Blue Eff, I have now covered 102k miles , I cover around 40k miles per year.
Should I change the timing chain ?
I have followed all the recommended maintenance services , however at this mileage.
Also , I have change the gear box oil at 40k and am considering changing it again.
In addition to the normal items such as breaks, oil changes Is there anything else members suggest to change renew ?
It is my intention to keep the car for another 150k mile.
My clients love it .

I personally thought timing chains didn't need to be replaced themselves. Usually it's the tensioners (plastic) in these vehicles that cause the issues and the guides. Timing belts are recommended to be changed every 60-70 k miles but as far as chains go I think the one main reason they are so popular now is because of their durability. Check with a trusted MB technician and see if they have any different thoughts about this.
