E300TD 1998 Engine noisy when temp below 5C, fine when warmed up
Had the car 5 yrs, 98k on the clock and drives very smoothly.
However, it hates the cold and becomes very noisy when the temperature drops below 5 degrees c, or about 50F.
Also, if I put the "ultra" BP deisel fuel in, the engine runs more smoothly both hot and cold.
I would imagine that I could quieten the engine by adjusting / replacing something - but is it a garage or a diy task?
