time to sell my 2001 S600
just FWIW it is a great car but the V12 seems to have a couple of cylinders that foul the plugs..
otherwise it all works great..
may part out if asked..
willing to take fair offers or will take a trade of a pre-1980 chevy suburban or other similar SUV.. 4WD preferred..
pix on request..
Honestly though, I would part that thing out in a heart beat. I'm sure it's been ridden hard and put down wet hundreds of times.
actually, it is a pretty nice car.. i went through it when i had a friend who was a MBz tech.. too bad he got a divorce and moved out of state.. 115k miles is nothing.. my guess is it has a blown head gasket, cracked head or cracked block..
obviously, the gasket is, i think, an affordable fix, the others not so much..
everything is straight and works..
i put new tires on it and i'll keep those wheels and tires and sell off whatever else someone wants..
interior is excellent, all the little bits are working..
even has a new conductor plate in the transmission, so that has been serviced..
it pains me to break it up but too many cars for an old guy who drives very little..
i would consider $3000, come and get it near Greensboro, georgia..
meanwhile, going to post in the recommended for sale section..
I'm starting to think good deals on used Mercedes represents normality, the higher prices on what I consider junk represents idiocrasy.....
ok on the levity..

it would not be convenient to sell off the parts and have a doorless, hoodless car body sitting around here.. wife and neighbors would complain AND my hands are not up to heavy mechanical work..
my thoughts were to get it sorted out and use it from time to time when i wanted a big safe sedan..
i can take it to my small farm but parting out a car there would be a PITA.. :-)
which i will do if i must..
good deals on experienced mercedes cars are all over if one just takes the time to look..
it is all in the carfax..
i think if i were in charge of MB USA i would sure make all efforts to support older mercedes cars with technical support and affordable service or indy shop service support..
i've had many MBZ cars since 1970 280SL.. just too damn bad no one in MB USA gives a rats *** for reputation, etc..
