new owner E55 AMG

-fuel filter/pressure regulator
-fuel pumps
-relays - not in the non-AMG locations, the AMG's use different wiring harnesses.
---the three items above are inter-related and will kick your *** if you are not aware of them.
-SBC - learn how to read the activation counts
-belts and pulleys - replace the supercharger idler pulley for $540 or rebuild it for $27
-ball joints and bushings and alignments, "Oh my!"
-SAS - Semi-active air suspension issues (Arnott aftermarket versus installing coilovers)
-center speaker failure
-tools to work on the E55 (triple-square spline bits, external Torx, internal Torx, 15mm and 18mm wrenches, etc)
-alternator replacement/rebuild
-sign up for the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC). Worth every penny.
-be prepared to pay for access to the Workshop Information System (WIS). Worth every penny. You can find some maintenance info out there but be prepared to pay.
-consider replacing the stock heat exchanger and pump. Search out how to do so because you have to remove the bumper.
-purchase and install the scatter-shield for the stock clutched supercharger pulley. Approximately $115 but it can save your engine and days of your labor if the stock clutched pulley should grenade on you.
You will want to invest in a Star/Xentry diagnostic system. It's the only way to affordably work on one of these cars.

Shardul (who posts on this forum) is your friend. Treat him as such.
Enjoy the ride but you will have to work for it.
