2010 C180 Power steering query.
Just before I hand over my C180 over to the dealers (£ signs!!!!!) I thought I'd try the good old Forum to pose my question.
I have a 2010 C180 and the power steering has suddenly started acting up.
It's fine from cold and acts normally for a good few miles at any speed.
However, after a good hour or so run, when everything is good and hot, the steering starts stiffening up.
This will be at slow OR faster speeds.... eg 50mph.
It's a bit disconcerting as it feels as if I have no, or very little power assistance.
Fluid level, when hot, is a bit on the low side but seems to read normal when cold!
Would it be advisable to grab some Pentosin CH11s and try a top up before scuttling off to the stealers?
Would a mm or so on the dipstick really make THAT much difference to how steering behaves?
Thank you in advance for your input.
