How many 1998 SL 500's came into the USA
I have a 1998 MB SL500 with a sequential number 62217. I believe that this means it was the 62217th SL500 (500SL) off the line since 1989. It was sold in the USA November 1997. My research is confusing as I have come up with several variables; to wit: maybe 23707 1998's made worldwide or 7070 SL 500's made from 98 to 01. It could be that the total 98's built from 89 to 01 was 70344 and subtracting my number from total shows that 8127 were built from 98-01. Somewhere I got a figure of 3607 brought into USA either in 98 or 98-01. I am trying to figure out if my MB is one off a FEW still on the road in the USA. My VIN# is WDBFA67F9WF162217
