ML 350 HD trailer hitch needed
I have a 2011 ML 350 Bluetec. Dealer quoted $2500 for the hitch, I purchased and installed myself a Curt 13102 mailorder for $150, install took 30 minutes, used only for a bike rack and everything is perfect, now I would like to tow a 4500lb gvw travel trailer and this hitch is not strong enough nor will it accept equalizers. No one seems to make a hitch with a rating anywhere near the 7200lb weight limit for this vehicle, all I want to tow is a 4500 gvw trailer. Looks like I need a front wiring harness, rear harness, brake controller and the hitch. Will a good RV place be the best, I have read horror stories about Uhaul and their hitch is only 3500 max anyway. Maybe I will end up back at the dealer but they don't actually do the job them selves! All you get for the extra money is peace of mind that they will cover any problems.
