Looking for my first MB
Hello from Santa Clara, CA
Greetings, MBWorld,
Not only am I new to this forum, but I am new to MBs in general.
I just picked up a 2000 S500 with 120K miles on it. It's pretty clean from nose to tail, with a couple of patches of clear-coat missing and a little rash on the driver's side rear quarter panel.
The ride is excellent and the alignment is spot on.
I believe that this is the 220 chassis based upon http://www.robisonservice.com/servic...es_chassis.asp. However, in this forum I don't see this model explicitly categorized. The closest is https://mbworld.org/forums/s55-amg-s...-w220-w221-52/.
I would appreciated learning the correct forum for this car so that I can begin my research. The first thing that stands out to me that could use some attention is the audio system. The bass driver produces a booming, blooming, bleeding, now well-defined mash of lower frequencies. The cone must have worn and is very flexible. The resulting sound is not tight or crisp.
Best regards,
Jerald
