Comand Connectivity Problems

I've had issues with my C300 Comand not connecting to the internet when using Bluetooth Tethering. I've spent the last couple of weeks trying to figure the problem out and I've seen lots of other posts online with people having similar issues and nobody seems to know how to resolve it.
Here's what I observed: If I sat in my car on the drive (whilst my cell - mobile phone) was connected to the house WiFi, I would eventually get the two little yellow arrows that indicate upload\download and therefore connected to the internet. I could then drive away and everything would work fine until I switched the engine off. The symptoms indicated that my Mercedes was not able to 'authenticate' with the MBrace service when on mobile 4G, 3G etc but could when on Wifi. As soon as I realised this, I knew that my mobile service provider had to be doing something to my internet traffic, proxying it via a web filter or other security service. On investigation, it was exactly that. Vodafone UK had decided to implement their SecureNet service without asking which then proxied all my internet traffic through a web filter and thus preventing my car from carrying out the initial 'handshake' with MBrace. As soon as I deactivated this ... everything started to work fine. As soon as I switch the car on, where-ever I am, as long as my mobile has connectivity, so does my car.
I expect more and more mobile service providers will be implementing these services to restrict access to XXX, Gambling etc. It's worth remembering if you start to see issues.
This will probably be my only post on here ... I felt I needed to spread the word because I've seen a lot of frustration. Cheers
