First Benz and love it.
Good afternoon Mb community,
I have just purchased a 2007 gl320 with 160k miles. I actually traded a 2000 Jeep Wrangler for this vehicle. We have owned BMW's in the past and have always loved them. I just needed a vehicle to drive to Texas about 6 times a year for school. The Jeep was uncomfortable after about 45 minutes in the cockpit. We actually went to test drive an X5 when someone beat us to the test drive. The Mercedes was sitting next to it and we thought we would kill some time by driving it around. I did not like how big the car was and was adamant on the BMW until we parked it next to each other. With only 9" in overall length difference the Mercedes with a diesel, comfort, towing capacity, and amenities (DVD) it was a no-brainer. The interface for the climate control on the BMW was aggravating at best. I am an avid DIY'er and have already started working on the car. I just finished the "elephant mod" with a filter attached until I can get the crankcase valve (PCV) replaced. There was an oil leak on the ground which upon thorough inspection was the turbo inlet seal. I have already ordered a new seal along with Mann air filters.
