Hey guys! New to the forum so i'm here to introduce myself. Between South Africa and Canada but I purchased my 2015 CLS 63 S for when I am working in Canada. Love the car, but it has now been at the dealership with the engine removed for two months. I only purchased it in July! It was acting strange occasionally - misfiring and power loss (restarting the car would often fix it), so I brought it to the dealer and after over a week of not being able to diagnose it they changed the spark plugs. Then the problem persisted so they claimed the new plugs were bad and changed them again. Then a period of time went by of me driving the car and it happened again. Brought it in on Friday, and when I came back on Monday the engine and drive train were completely removed from the vehicle. Turns out cylinders on both banks had lost compression resulting in them completely failing.

I was told that engine replacement would probably be what AMG would order. Then they informed me they are rebuilding the engine at the dealer with new cylinder heads re-manufactured in Canada. They attempted to put the whole vehicle back together and it wasn't running properly so they removed the engine for a second time. The entire time I have argued that the engine should be replaced and not rebuild but Mercedes Canada has completely ruled that out. What are your opinions? This will now be a "Several men, one engine" AMG and I am obviously very concerned about future reliability and eventually, resale value. The experience with the car and the brand has been totally ruined. Nothing personal against the service guys but seriously... no one wants an AMG hand build by a few technicians at your local dealer in New Brunswick!

Anyone else had a similar experience? Mercedes is unwilling to do anything at the moment.
