Buying a ML500
Hello club members, I currently own a 2003 ML270 and have done 60000 miles over 3 1/2 years, current mileage is 142000.
It hasn't been trouble free by any means.... regular injector leaks (black death) and remedial re-seating of the injectors.
Swirl flaps problems with worn mechanism, then subsequent removal of the flaps and mechanism and blanking off the remaining holes in the inlet manifold.
Most recent failure was the turbo letting go while towing our caravan, refurbished turbo fitted to fix it.
I love the vehicle but the engine really is the weak spot.
Now what I really would like to change it to is a V8 petrol version, I have never owned a V8 and it is on my bucket list before it's too late!
Has anyone out there owned or currently owns a V8 ML 500, 550 AMG and what are your thoughts please?
