My 1994 W124 E420 may still have the plastic cam oiler tubes. The car has 83K miles and I have not cracked the cover to see, and there seems no characteristic ticking noise. I don't really know how fragile these things are and whether they might not fare well if exposed to a cleaner agent like BG 109. If sludge is holding them together I may not want to tempt fate. Does anyone have a perspective?
