08 E63, new to AMG
Howdy all,
First off, there was some great info on here I looked at for the past few months while shopping for an E63, so thanks! I recently sold my 06 SRT8 Wagon to start the process of finding a new quick 4 door.
I have always loved the looks of the 07/08 E63's. The last of the round headlights and the tail are just great looking. Had been looking for a wagon but always keeping an eye out for a sedan as well. Picked up this 2008 E63 in the dark blue with only 47k pretty well documented miles. Was nervous with the low mileage but had MB check it over and it is in great shape. Has every option it seems, including the limited slip diff. I still have so much to learn about this car and appreciate any future help!
Cheers,
Chris

Post up some pics! If the car has a limited slip that means it's a P030 car and more desirable. Do you also have a flat bottom steering wheel in it?
Look up the head bolts, lifters, cams and fuel tank. All issues with these cars. The tank is covered under an extended warranty for 15 years from the build date if it leaks. If you smell gas after filling it up, it probably needs a new fuel tank.

You have the alcantara wheel instead. You have a P030 car. Consider yourself very lucky if you didn't pay extra because of that. Those wheels also only came on the P030 cars if you decide to swap them in the future.
If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it?

I paid $19,700 (BMW dealer had it). It has 47,698 miles and has pretty solid documentation. I was very nervous about it being that price with the mileage but had it checked out at the MB dealer in Georgetown, TX and the tech was very impressed with the car. Calmed my nerves a ton.

You got a good of a deal on it. I'm guessing the market for AMG cars isn't that great where you're at.
Here's one that's similar for sale here in the SF Bay Area. It's been on CL for about a month now though. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto...660783609.html

The E63's don't stay on the market long. This was at a dealer that is getting completely renovated and they just got it in on a trade, no place to keep a ton of vehicles. They posted it with no pics and I sort of bought it sight unseen, just phone pics from the sales guy. I was the 1st to call on it and got lucky. Best 3 hour drive.
Thanks for the info. I have jumped into the W211 group too and doing lots of reading!
