New to the forum! (Sorta)
My dad rarely drove it; pretty much a weekend car until I started driving it. Thing is an absolute beauty (and beast). I’m just about to hit the 200k (KM’s) club and moments ago just driving home from work, I was about 2 blocks away from home driving in my neighbourhood and I got to a stop sign, stopped, and suddenly the radiator fan started running on high speed. I didn’t notice it til after about 10 seconds of driving after I proceeded thru the stop sign cause I thought there was someone using a vacuum nearby, as my windows were rolled down. I was going only about 20-30 km/h trying to figure out what that noise was, until I looked at my gauges and nothing was working. So that’s when I pulled over and turned off the car.
Took the the key out, waited about a minute and put the key back in, and screen was black. It also made a different clicking noise when the key was inserted, so I didn’t bother trying to turn it into ignition. Took it back out, put it back in after a few seconds and same thing happened. But this time I decided to try and put it in ignition. It worked. I proceeded to try and turn to ACC and it also worked. Everything was fine. Let the car idle for a good minute before continuing driving home, which was less than a minute away. Pulled in to the drive way and I let the car idle for over 10 minutes just to see if anything would happen again. Nothing.
In short, is there anything I should be worried about? My service B is due in roughly 3500km’s and there is no other problems that arose with this car. Would like to know my options before contacting MB services, since I am planning to sell her soon, due to my long commutes to work everyday and needing something a bit better on gas, as well as the winter conditions we have here (I’m from Hamilton, ON, Canada)!
Thank you and hello to all again
