Wheel bearing?
I'm looking into a 2006 C280. The owner claims the rear driver side wheel bearing is bad. He has an entire wheel hub assembly in the trunk which comes with the car. The problem here is, the owner claims to have been driving with the bad wheel bearing for 4-5 years. I can't for the life of me figure out how one could drive on a bad wheel bearing for that long without it completely seizing or welding itself to the rest of the hub due to excessive heat. I'm leaning towards another issue. Am I on the ball with my thinking?
