No more run flats for me. I have an S550 4matic 2 door coupe 2015. Three of the four original equipment tires have had sidewall failures. One was a slow leak and the other two were instant blowouts. There was still ample tread on the tires that had to be replaced. The dealership has proposed that I replace the tires with run-flats. I said NO WAY! . I plan to buy four new tires that are non run-flat They will be Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. I will buy a can of leak repair if I should get a flat and then go to a garage and fix the leak permanently. Incidentally Mercedes now has an option on new cars to have them fitted with non run-flat tires. I highly recommend this option. There is no excuse to buy a car for 140k and have to replace three of the four original tires. Mercedes-Benz should be ashamed of themselves.
