I am a brand new Mercedes owner, a few weeks ago I purchased a very nice pewter metallic 2005 C55 AMG, a car I have lusted after for some time. Before doing my purchase I spend quite some time reading on this forum and it was of great help.
I am very happy with my car so far, it has left me a fantastic impression, like very few others cars in the past. I plan to modify my car just a little bit because I think it is a fantastic car already, I happen to work as a Design Engineer for a Porsche/Ferrari specialist company so getting stuff done should not be a problem.
Looking forward to sharing my experiences and learn from all of you.
I am not certain if that model year in the engine has the problems of weak head bolts that can fail but be sure and check and replace them if so.
I do not have this car anymore.
But the head bolt issue does not pertain this year or the engine on the car.
This was a W203 and it had a 5.4 M113
The car you are thinking is the the W204 C63 with the M156 6.2, that engine also came in E/S/CLS/ML/CL among others. Early ones were known to have the head bolt issue, camshaft/lifters among a couple other things were also issues.
