back up camera and telephone capability 2008 e300
good evening. i just purchased a 2008 e300 today. Can anyone confirm what was explained to me at a car audio store?
"The Mercedes uses fibre optics so i have no way to utilize the built in phone or have a back up camera installed" is what the fella said. Sorry, there is an option, "costing me around 2500-3000$ CAD to send my unit to the US for an adapter I was told. An after market back up Camera can be installed on the dash to the left of the steering wheel for around $800. Would be nice if the screen space could be used where the Mercedes radio is? he also suggested a wireless bluetooth speaker with a microphone for me to use my cell phone. Seems unfortunate if this is true. I haven't done any research yet as I just signed up on this forum. Appreciate any replies. Cheers.
