New here 1999 SLK 230 for my daughter

Hello I was hopeing someone could help me out. Just finished engine swap and new tires and interior for a 1999 all 230 that was for my daughter. Car was ready for her all that was left was to clean it and give her the keys. While cleaning the interior a penny fell into the cigarette lighter and instead of the fuse blowing it melted and wire harness burned up. I went to the junk yard and pulled the harness from a 1999 slk 230 what a nightmare one harness for the dash center console ignition out to the lights abs wipers alternator computer and back in on the passanger side. When I pulled the harness on my daughters car it was 2 separate harness all the plugs appear to be the same. Is there a difference in the way the plugs are pinned? am I going to burn something up when I plug this in? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance
