Hello everybody! I just found this forum after recently purchasing an '06 S600. Car has 120,000 miles. I'm in Canada but this is a US spec. car which was imported a few years ago. Body is very clean and straight. A few things need to be looked into but no major problems.
I look forward to any insight offered as this brand is new to me. I've mainly worked on Audi and VW and look forward to sorting this car out. Still in the research phase but just itching to get started on this beast!

forget everything you thought you knew about cars. They used a shoe horn to pry a V12 Engine into the space made for a V8 engine. They they strapped two turbos on top for good measure and additional heat.. LOL These cars are wonderful and have only two problems. Coil packs & ABC ****. Get those two things sorted out and you are good. Don't do any coil overs; Keep the car pure; that will make it easier to sell.
I just put new NGK coil packs on my SL600 and have been happy with them. Cheaper than MB parts, still $1000 a side , but they have 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. I got mine on Rock Auto.
