Mercedes SL350 R230
Hello all
Hi all senior members
I just purchased my first SL350, 2003 model. It brought a tear to my eye. Never been so proud.
I would like to welcome support and advice on upkeep of my vehicle, maintenance and purchase locations.
So, how do i look after this? apart from the dash service prompts? It's a V6, how do i keep the engine well maintained? Do i need to max it out on a ramp to keep cylinders firing?
Where can i upgrade the sound / sat nav? Where can i purchase authentic car mats?

Welcome! Please post a photo of the SL. It's a good idea to form a relationship with your nearest dealer or independent repair shop, and to learn the DIY projects that can be done on the vehicle.

2005 R 230 SL350 (M112 3.7). Sold the 1966 W113 230SL recently
Perhaps the first thing to look at is whether the boot is bone dry. Lift the floor panel and check for moist or even evidence of rust. The culprit is the rubber right below the rear window. Plenty info about it on this and on a British forum.
