With the hail dents and water inside the car, the assessor should write it off, its not really a matter if water has got into the electrics on the floor, because there should be not much down there, its that if you have water in a car the humidity that comes along with it gets into everything, you might not have problems now but down the track you will.
If the Assessor calls you up and tells you they are going to repair, ask them for a Guarantee in writing that there will be no problems later down the track claiming if electrical gremlins start popping up, im sure they will write it off rather than pay for future problems.

Thanks for that..the insurance company have sent the car to somewhere tHat is taking the dash out and getting an auto electrician to check it out.
I'm hoping they write it off but it seems like they are gi going to try everything before they do that

Typical insurance company, just make sure that you let him know because of the water ingress you want it in writing that any future water related electrical failures are covered under this claim number, that will make them think differently about whether its wort repairing or not.

Previous poster is correct, that amount of water is a death knell to the car, the damage is done and will continue as the moisture eats into everything. Replacing the carpet and insulation will still leave moisture eating at everything metal and electrical. It's like flood damage, they're marked on the title In most states so they can't easily be resold. As for guarantee against future issues, you'll have a hard time later one proving it was because of the water with some future adjuster, ha ha. If you can't get them to total it, let them fix it and then get rid of it immediately. Take the hit now. You might also contact your states insurance division. And find a new insurance company.
