W211 SBC RECOVERY TOOL BY OBO
I viewed many of the threads regarding this recovery tool but many of them dated back to 2011 and 2009. I just bought 2 of these units and received both of them today. One I had ordered a month ago and it had to come from China, little did I know. I watched the videos and it all looked too easy....which it wasn't. I followed instructions and although the unit appeared to be effecting the system in my car, it did not clear the code. The second unit I tried made it past the power light and then began to smoke. I quickly disconnected it and returned to the first unit.
After multiple attempts I could not advance any further and gave up for now. I will check again in the morning to see if anything actually cleared.
I did read one post mentioning this issue if the car had not been driven in a while. Mine was sitting all day, but am not certain if that is what they meant by sitting.
I did receive the obligatory red lights on dash warnings as the tool was processing, but in the end, my regular warning as seen by everyone else has not been removed.
I will update tomorrow.
i will be returning both units if I cannot achieve the desired results. BTW the instructional disc is useless.
