My wife is in love...
Hello everybody.
We just purchased a 2012 GL550 for my wife.
She LOVES this vehicle.
It's the first time I've seen her in love with any vehicle, and we've been together for 39 years!
The car (am I allowed to call a GL series a car?) is black with tan interior.
It has just about every option, if not every option, offered that year.
This is truly a beautiful vehicle.
I really like the AMG wheels. The led lights on the running boards and illuminated door sills are pretty cool too.
She has 83K miles.
Mint condition. Seriously. Everybody who sees the GL thinks that it is brand new.
She has been named Natasha.
(We are having a problem with her and I just created my first post about that.)
My wife and I live in Salem, Oregon
Like everyone, our lives have been turned upside down by this COVID pandemic.
We are both front line Urgent Care Nurses. We've worked with COVID patients almost exclusively since mid-March.
Our clinic has created a drive-thru "COVID clinic". It's strange to take care of patients in their cars.
Thankfully not a single one of our nursing staff have come down with COVID-19 (so far).
This vehicle is one of the few positives we've had lately.
Anyway, enough about that.
This is our first MB vehicle, and as I said it is my wife's car. My daily driver is a Jaguar XJR. We also own a GMC Denali.
I am currently doing a 100% restoration on my 1960 Morris Minor 1000 which is a pretty fun project.
We have done some routine maintenance on the GL such as change all of the usual wear items, tires, etc.
I did have a new infotainment system installed. We found the stock MB unit to be somewhat antiquated and less than user friendly. She now sports a Kenwood head unit and have had the rear video monitors upgraded to removable tablets. It's pretty cool! My wife is an audiophile so this was a worthwhile upgrade. We also had a remote start system installed.
The front windows have been tinted since we took this pic.
This is Christine's baby.
We spend our time with our bulldog Lucy and our 4 year old grand daughter Lilly.
I love playing with cars and my wife loves gardening.
We look forward to chatting with you all on this Forum.
Have a great day and stay safe everyone!
