1996 SL500
Hello All

Hi to all you out there!
I have just been given a 1996 SL500. It is in very ruff shape. paint is just flaking off, dirt OMG the dirt, its going to take some time to get this looking good again.
I am starting my journey with the top. I got the car with the hardtop on. And it would not release electirly, so i seen the videos on how to release it manually and was able to get it off. Not that hard! Now the soft top and the roll bar will not come up and this is wear i need advice.
I did resync the windows no help.
And Not sure where to go from here. there is no movement from the roll bar or the soft top. There is no lights on the button till i try and move roll bar or the top.
My OBDII says no codes?

clear coat just flaking off

clear coat

Ok Whats next LOL I need advice please. going to download a shop manual later this week

Hi and welcome!

That is a project. Take a look in the R129 forum for ideas of where to start. Good luck!
