W203 2004 c230 kompressor sport ignition switch issues please help!
I own a 2004 Mercedes c230 kompressor sport. I’ve been having issues starting my vehicle. This is a “sometiming” problem but I want to fix it! So when I turn the key to the first click all of the power cuts out! Now sometimes it doesn’t and the second click all the power cuts out! And sometimes it does not give any issues. I find myself going through the motions until it actually starts. It’s frustrating. So my battery is new and I’m thinking it could the “ignition switch”. My problem is this a new ignition switch is $600 at the dealership and $100 used on eBay! I’m being told it’s not a simple install and go and that I have to get the new switch and key “programmed”. Also I’ve read that once a key is “programmed” it can only be used for that vehicle and can’t be programmed to another car! Help me please because I want to get this fixed correctly but I also want to save money! Any info will help!
