2015 Mercedes Benz E350 Wagon, 1991 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.6 5 Speed
Greetings from Metro Detroit!
Hi everyone!
I am relatively new to the forums! Been lurking for a long time but finally decided to take the plunge. Looking forward to showing off my cars and projects as I go along!
First up is my new to me daily!
2015 E350 Wagon: 78K miles, One previous owner, shipped all the way up here from Florida!
Absolutely in love with the car, replaced my old 535xi Wagon which, while fun and made turbo noises, was becoming more and more unreliable by the minute. I am hopeful that this one can stay out of the repair shop.
Only plans for this car are to continue to look into the possible retrofit of COMAND 5s1, there are a lot of threads out there and tons of info but I am still a little hesitant to dive in as I would like to make sure I can retain the online services. If anyone has any info that would be greatly appreciated!
Second is my long running weekend car/project car/driveway ornament that I bought back in 2017, 1991 190E 2.6 5 Speed.
No, its not swapped, thats a factory installed manual transmission in a US delivered 6 Cylinder 190E. Its my baby and while it may be sacrilege, it is getting a new heart soon. I have plans (and most of the parts) to put the M104.980 engine in from a 1991 300SL. Retains the Bosch K-Jet fuel injection while increasing displacement and horsepower to really wake this little car up so it can keep up (and probably pass) its Cosworth tuned Brothers. Currently in the last stages of parts collecting to begin this swap. Looking forward to sharing it with everyone!
Welcome! Nice fleet of M-Bs. Native Detroiter here. Born at St. John's on 7 Mile, quite a while ago. Ate lunch at Buddy's on Conant this summer. Need to make a stop at Lafayette for a chili loose to celebrate the post-COVID era.
