Hey everyone, been lurking a while as I car shop. I've had various germans over the years and have yet to try mercedes. I'm having my first child, and want a new sedan. Selling my m235i and looking into two options.
New body e43 amg
Or a 15/16 E63S 4matic
I know the e43 motor isn't truly AMG, but do appreciate the interior design, as well as efficiency, as well as the improvements to the transmission. My big holdback is the fact that it's only growing harder and harder to find cars with character, and the e63s/m157 have a lot of it. I'm leaning that direction, I prefer massaging seats over the tech in the newer vehicle, and definitely love the sound. I will build either vehicle I get, and I think the older car is likely better suited.. however if anyone has anything else to add to my considerations please do let me know.
Previously had an Audi s6 with a 4.0t and want the older 5.5L rather than to go back to something that feels more similar to what I've already owned. Don't care much about fuel mileage my commute is short each day. I've always seen AMG as the muscle car of the german world and it's time I taste that. The more I type the more I am sure the e63s will be my next daily! Cheers. If any members have a 15 or 16 for sale do let me know.

Welcome to the forums. I am partial to the W212 chassis, and the 15/16 E63S is a beast and not known for any reliability issues. Definitely post up some photos once you get whichever you decide!
