debating to buy an '09 c63 w/ 144k km
Hey!
I am pretty new to forums and DIY, but am interested in picking up a car and getting into learning more about doin' it the right way before I even try, and have been searching for info on what to expect regarding mods and power along with long term ownership reliability.
My names Mike, I am located in Toronto, Ontario and used to drive an '07 335i for a few years and had a lot of fun with it being a 6spd and having a decent exhaust installed paired w/ a tune. About a year after finishing my mods and enjoying the car sadly I decided it was time to sell, I ran into a great deal on a 1991 r32 gts4 which I am currently working on getting the resources to restore and decided that I want to sell the BMW even though half of me really wanted to keep it, that's when I started thinking about a c63 as a step up and I absolutely fell in love with the sound that v8 produces..
So here I am on the used market looking for an 09-14 c63 with decent services records considering the age it is at this point, and just wondering how many kilometers people can expect to get out of them with regular maintenance, and I mean always on time.
My question is how long will the car and engine will last me until and what will happen past the km marks on these cars? One is a 2009 listed at 144,000Km for $23K CAD currently and there is a 2011 @ $25k with 100,000Km, and I am inquiring about both car's service and records and probably will pick between the two if one of them had recently had the head bolts replaced, otherwise it may not be worth it as a 2013 w/ p31 package is going for $40k at 92,000 km. They are both in my budget but I am the type of person who will be satisfied with something that is just, simply up to standards and I understand for the extra 10k it is extremely more advanced and probably worth it in the aspect of interior and gadgets and the updated engine makes more power, but would I be satisfied with the 09-11 gen and will they be just as reliable provided the notorious head bolts that they are famed for is dealt with?
Thanks for reading and taking time to reply
