W205 4Matic estate
Hello
Hi. Just joined obviously. Bought myself a C220 4 matic estate as a "practical or sensible" car. It's a good car for my dogs to be honest.
I've wanted a Merc for a long time but have been out off by the war bending of the ex wife who wanted shoes lol.
Memories of Mercs go back to my 6th birthday, my dad had a 600 at the time,he took 12 kids for an outdoor party in that. The number was FKR777D, I wonder if it still lives? Sadly it wasn't the most reliable car and got swapped out for a Daimler Double Six, which amazingly was reliable!
Later he had a 500 SE, the no FCC500Y. Which I drove quite a bit, The stability, pace and ABS showed just how the game had moved on.. Ironically, that too proved unreliable in my sister's wedding day. I drove the ushers, groom and best man in her 1.0 metro...
Personally, I flirted with a G wagen around 1990 and 190 2.5 diesel. But seemed to end up with something else.
Anyway, I've finally got here, not with an S class of AMG, but with a car bought when I had my sensible trousers on...
So far it's great, apart from today, two whole week's after I got it, where a can backed into the front wing. CCTV has paid dividends and he's been in touch after originally skulking off.
Hope this journey is fun..
I also have an Impress P1, which is erm... Nippy, and once I get a honest fitted, I can tow it to track days etc.
Anyway, war and peace finished for now.
