I recently was a 2009 VW Passat B6 estate owner. Did quite a few changes:
- passive TPMS, electric folding mirrors, daytime running light reconfigured, added reverse camera and upgraded factory stereo headunit, upgraded steering wheel, changed rear lights to get amber turn signals, etc.
I bought a Benz since they are the only maker of an estate that meets my requirements, including having the two rear facing seats.
It’s also the first automatic car I’ve owned.
Specs:
- LED Intelligent headlights
- parktronic and park assist
- driver assist (lane departure warning)
Things I would like to do:
- Give it proper rear signals that are independent and amber (not flashing the red brake light)
- change configuration so when I turn on rear fog light the front headlights sweep out to the side (all ROW cars seem to do this)
- Video in Motion and add Carplay support
- potentially add Distronic Plus
- add a dash cam or a video recorder that taps into the existing cameras i.e. either splices into the video feed or through COMAND
