2018 E400 Cabriolet Parktronics

Hi Everyone,
New to this forum. Need help on my Parktronics on my 2018 E400 Cabriolet. Does it do right angle (straight in) parking or only parallel parking? When I try it in my parking garage it only finds parallel spots.
Thank you!

Both but depends on your car, which options do you have?
Remember, there must be two cars in between that parking spot for the perpendicular parking to work.
Newer cars like the W223 can use the parking lines to perpendicular park instead of having two vehicles.

The only thing it says on my window sticker list of options, is P01 Premium 1Package with Active Parking Assist. I looked in the manual and it doesn't indicate what type of parking is available. I'm thinking only Parallel as that is what the car searched for when I tried it. However, I've been searching YouTube and most of the newer models seem to have both parallel and vertical. I'm confused. I've got a message into my Mercedes dealership service department to check with them.

Looks like your car has all the right options to do both angles of parking. MBs prefer parallel park over perpendicular parking though so if that is what it sees first, it will choose that. Keep in mind, your target parking spot must be in between two cars for the car to perpendicular park as it can't just identify the lines to park.

Welcome. I suggest you scroll down the main forum page and find the section that's for owners of your model of MB. That's where mechanical questions get answered.
