Hello, I was driving my car to work on Monday when the instrument panel went crazy, windshield wipers were going eventhough they were in the off position..... power stearing acting weird, it said do not change gears.....
Has anyone ever come across this error. It is currently at the dealership, they want to put in a new battery which sounds reasonable but they want to run the diagnostic which is almost $600..... Help

Welcome sorry to hear about your instrument panel problem but I have no idea how to solve it.

Avoid the dealer and take it to a shop who can try to better diagnose.

I just got my 2011 C250 back from the dealer for similar issues. Turns out water had got in to the cabin and had shorted out a plug in the floor loom. I have been told it was because the sunroof drains were blocked. Taking it to a MB dealer will not be cheap. Their direction with any water and wiring is to replace the loom which I was quoted $18,000. I have got the car home with the interior stripped with the view to repair the affected area. I have just joined this group to gain the information that I need to do this repair.
