2010 C220 Estate

Radio Cutting in and out

I know this subject is the bane of all Mercedes owners, and I have seen multiple threads which, when followed, don't really reach a resolution. I have a Mercedes C220 estate. The radio had started cutting off after connection to my I-Phone. The system would say 'System shutting down' and for exactly 1 minute and 38 seconds it would come back on and be fine. So I though it was the phone, turned off Blu-tooth, disconnected all devices, Still the same 1 minute and 38 seconds of shut down then restarted again. So, this is becoming quite frustrating as I use my car for work, and I cannot take calls whilst this reset is in process (plus my wife thinks I am hanging up on her). Granted I could just wait two minutes, however that is not the point of this system. So I took i upon myself to stop and turn the engine off, the radio then does exactly the same, but this time it only takes 20 seconds then restarts. FYI my heated rear window has stopped working as well (Not sure if this all linked) but the radios was going wonky long before the heated rear window went. The heated rear window button lights up then goes out. And then yesterday it stayed on all the time no problems !!!!

I have taken it to a local MB dealer, they want £750 plus labour for a new media unit and £3k plus labour for a heated rear window system. I am really at the end of my tether, I have read posts about pulling certain fuses etc... then read that the system needs to be reset by MB when this is done, then others saying it doesn't.

I need some positive advice please ? I am quite able to do Electrics / Mechanics so am fully aware of pulling the wrong fuse / wire so to speak.
