This is my first post on this forum, and I would greatly appreciate feedback.
Context: I bought a 2004 e500 sedan from a shady character. I didn't notice any problems when purchasing the car, but that did not last long. The car's suspension was F***ed. I found myself in an expensive rut (as a broke college student nonetheless). I fixed the issues in the forward suspension. One huge problem remains in the passenger-side rear suspension. The spring is bent and rubbing against the strut (pictures attached). It squeaks like a dying pig. Spring rubs against strut.
Problem: I took a closer look and found the coil spring is failing due to a bad bushing. The spring is seated upon a shot bushing. The problem for me, as a broke college student, is one of money. It feels impossible to replace. I cannot locate a replacement part. If I could find a replacement bushing, then maybe I could just replace that. I don't know. Maybe I should just replace the assembly altogether.
Question: How would you solve this problem and where would you get parts?
